Well of Being:A Compassionate Approach to Mental Wellbeing
Well of Being is founded on a deep commitment to the compassionate pursuit of mental and emotional wellbeing. I believe that when we understand the nature of our minds, we can reconnect with our innate resilience and clarity. No matter where you are in your journey, transformation is possible.
My work is shaped by both professional experience and personal insight. Having supported a diverse range of individuals through mental health challenges—and having navigated my own transformation after 15 years of struggling with an eating disorder—I bring a unique depth of understanding to my practice. The combination of expert knowledge, lived experience, and a passion for innate health allows me to offer a service that is both deeply compassionate and effective.

Where it all began...
I started my career as a podiatrist working within the NHS, but life had other plans. Unexpected turns led me to discover my true passion: supporting people experiencing emotional and psychological distress, particularly those struggling with their relationship with food, weight, and body image.
Determined to follow this path, I returned to university to qualify as a Relational Counsellor and later gained accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My training continued with specialisms in Counselling for Depression, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and EMDR therapy.
My career has allowed me to work with a wide range of clients, including survivors of rape and sexual assault, as well as those navigating complex mental health challenges. I spent many years working in NHS Mental Health Services, most recently within a Specialist Eating Disorder Service. Now, I dedicate my time fully to my private practice, Well of Being, where I support individuals in cultivating lasting emotional freedom.

In recent years, my work has been profoundly influenced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and an understanding of innate health. After training in the ACT model with Russ Harris, I found a framework that beautifully aligns with my belief in our capacity to move beyond the limitations of our minds and into a life guided by meaning, purpose, and what truly matters to us.
A Little more About me...
Hello and welcome! I absolutely love my work and feel privileged to walk alongside so many people as they rediscover their resilience and wellbeing.
I live in Castleford, West Yorkshire, with the loves of my life—my husband and our three terriers. Our dogs are my constant companions (and excellent feet warmers when I’m working from home!).
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me outdoors – walking the dogs, running, or enjoying the fresh air. I have a special love for the mountains, and nothing makes me happier than being in our camper van, listening to the rain with my feet up and a warm drink in hand.

Having fully recovered from 15 years of Anorexia Nervosa, I know firsthand how precious life and wellbeing are. My journey has shown me that no matter how stuck we feel, change is possible. This understanding deeply informs my work, and I believe that every person has the capacity to experience life in a new and fulfilling way.
Beyond work, I’m incredibly grateful for my wonderful friends and family – I love spending time with them at the theatre, enjoying great food, and making meaningful memories. I’m also very partial to a lazy day on the sofa, snuggled up with the dogs.
Life is for living—right here, right now, in this moment.
